FruitBatPlatformer
A downloadable game for Windows
I made this game during my senior year at UC Santa Cruz while studying game design! This was sort of an experimental project, which I used to self-teach myself how to use the engine of Unity. I did all of this in just a few months, with very little prior Unity knowledge.
This game primarily focuses on playing with Unity's physics, as it can be a bit tricky to get the spinning, flying bat to push the fruit in the way that the player desires. As such, this game is very silly and fun, but with a bit of a challenge to it. There is no win-condition programmed in, but you can certainly feel satisfied once you get every fruit in the baskets in one go.
I drew every asset used in this game myself, and I experimented with Unity's innate animation techniques to animate the player. A more complicated animation could be possible, but I have always preferred the liveliness of snappy frame-by-frame animation. I hope you think it is as cute and funny as I do!
I had planned to add more features to this game, such as starting and ending scenes, and sound design, but the latest Unity controversy had slowly drained me of my passion. I still want to show off this game, however, because I worked very hard on it and I think it's a very fun little demo!
